About Axa and Axa Trading

Equitable Holdings, Inc. is American financial services and insurance company. It operates through four separate divisions: Individual Retirement, Group Retirement, Investment Management and Research, and Protection Solutions.

In 2004, the company officially changed its name to AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company. Sixteen years later, it changed its name to Equitable Holdings, Inc. after its spinoff from AXA.

A year later, the company announced a secondary common stock offering of 40 million shares of AXA Equitable Holdings, Inc. On November 7, 2019, AXA made public the sale of its remaining stake in AXA Equitable Holdings, selling 144 million shares of common stock to Goldman Sachs, the only underwriter.
